Our Journey

In 2005, after many years in the industry, Malcolm Crayton and Andrew Williams founded CW Logistics Ltd as part of their mutual vision for the future of partnership warehousing.

With an extensive collection of skills and experience, gained across many years at senior management level within the logistics industry, they saw an opportunity and started their own logistics company. Their mission was to create a successful business by helping their customers to be successful. The original simple concept of providing a first-class service at a fair price has been the ethos of the business throughout its lifetime and remains so into the future.

Our warehouse space has steadily increased and today stands at over 200,000 ft2, consisting of four warehouses. Based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, CW Logistics Ltd is perfectly placed for the import of goods via the ports of Felixstowe, Harwich and Great Yarmouth with onward distribution across the UK and Europe.

Using our versatile warehouse management systems, the most suitable modern equipment and supported by skilled workforce, ensures we achieve the highest operational efficiency for our customers. Therefore, allowing us to offer our customers competitive rates without compromising service levels and meet our mission statement.

“We are only a success because we ensure your logistics are successful”

Our IT & Systems

CW Logistics Ltd are committed to providing the highest quality service to its customers at every stage of the journey. In order to meet that commitment regular audits take place to review the level of service against operating systems and procedures. As CW Logistics Ltd has expanded its capacity, new and advanced systems have been implemented to meet the demands of standard operations and specific customer requirements.

Our Accreditations

CW Logistics Ltd constantly strives to improve its systems and standards, both to deliver excellent service to its customers and to provide a supportive, safe and secure environment for its staff to work in, both of which are seen as critical elements in growing the business.

The award of certificates and accreditations demonstrates that we continue to achieve this in all areas of the business, providing clear evidence to our customers that they are in safe hands with us. We are proud of our accreditations and recognise that every member of the team works hard to help us achieve them.

Suffolk Carbon Charter – Gold (awarded from December 2023 to date)

The Suffolk Carbon Charter is an award recognising carbon reduction measures in Suffolk’s small and medium businesses – i.e. those with fewer than 250 FTEs (Full Time Employees).

CW Logistics Ltd recognises the importance of reducing emissions as part of addressing climate change and is proud to be part of this Charter. In 2023, after working hard to reduce our emissions and finding additional ways to support this, we achieved the Gold Standard. We are working with our customers to help them reduce their own emissions and gain their own Carbon Charter Award

Since we became Charter Members in 2019 we have worked hard to reduce our carbon footprint and in both 2021 and 2022 we achieved a reduction that surpassed our target and we hope to repeat this in 2024.

We work our carbon footprint out in metres sq (M2), in order to calculate an accurate footprint of the business allowing us to compare years. It also gives us a mechanism to split it down into individual customers and produce a comprehensive report to each one.

2021 Achieved 4.83 (CO2eM2)
2022 Target  4.36 (CO2eM2)      Achieved 3.30  (CO2eM2)      32% Reduction on Target Level
2023 Target  2.70 (CO2eM2)      Achieved 2.28 (CO2eM2)       26% Reduction on Target Level

Carbon Literate – Achieved May 2022

The Carbon Literacy Project is based on the key aim that if we are to cut our carbon emissions by the kind of reductions demanded of us by science, then we will need to change culture alongside technology.

Carbon Literacy training is offered through workplaces, educational institutions and communities. This training course offers a wealth of information to help us understand how to meet those demands.

Gaining the Carbon Literacy Certification has definitely helped us in gaining the Carbon Charter GOLD Award in 2023. Those who have done this training have rolled out the information to the teams and this has proved effective in helping reduce our emissions both in the business and at home.

AEO – Achieved June 2019

AEO status is a certified authorisation, issued by HMRC administrations.

It certifies that an economic operator has met certain standards in relation to safety and security, systems to man age commercial records and compliance with customs rules. CW Logistics Ltd is credited with Full AEO status.

Benefits of AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) status

  • Simplified Customs declarations and EIDR (Entry in Declarant’s Records)
  • Transit simplifications.
  • Priority treatment of consignments if selected for control.
  • The option of a centralised clearance self-assessment.
  • Easier admittance to special procedures such as e-CFSP, temporary storage and Customs warehousing.

ISO 9001 & 14001 – Achieved May 2019 to 2023

ISO 9001 aims to provide a practical and workable Quality Management System for reviewing, improving and monitoring all areas of a business. Implementing an effective and robust ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) helps us to focus on the most important area of our business, our customers. Constant evaluation of our performance, processes and planning ensure we continuously improve efficiency, bringing tangible benefits to our customers, our employees and the business.

ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that an organisation can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements. By working to this standard, we can be confident we work to a system that measures and improves our impact, and our customers impact on the environment.

ISO 45001:2018 specifies the requirements for an occupational health and  safety management system, giving guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.

By working to this standard we are confident that we are always compliant to Health & Safety Regulations and every member of our team is working safely.
